LOL yeah that must be it.   Someone was making a point at one of our meetings and another made a sexual reference of that being a gay thing. The co-worker looked up and said if your mind naturally goes to that place then you are not thinking in the right way. Their point was taken.I was proud of him for speaking up and pointing that out to that person

Living in the Milwaukee WI area, we are known for our beer.

Yah, Miller lite is brewed here, but...

Did any of you ever try some micro beers?

There are many styles and favors here.

Sprecher Brewery:   Amber, Black Bavarian, bock 1888 (new/awesome)  and more

Lake front brewery: East side dark (best from tap), Riverwest stein, cattail ale, etc...

Milwaukee Ale house: Pull chain EPA, Louie's demise, etc.....

These are in Milwaukee.

Other WI breweries: Capital brewery, summit, leinekugel

Try some... Best place is at a beer tasting. They do those here for fund raisers.

We still have cheese and quite a bit of it.

I have heard that California has overtaken us or are real close.

Milwaukee thou has always been known for beer. They used to brew Pabst here.

If you get the chance, try one of the micros from my earlier reply. You will be pleased. I believe in sharing.

The beers are too good to keep to oneself.

Sorry Guys, Molson Golden girl here.  Hey do you think the Wisconsinites will soon be doning daisy necklaces on their cows for more PR?

Mooooooo!

Wisconsin cheese is flavorable and there are multiple types.

California can advertise all they want. Try some of Wisconsin's Cheese, it is great on its own merits.

(For the record, I own no stock in any cheese company. )

Then again, cows with daisy's.... Cant be any worse the Geico and the Geko.  (Ha Ha!)

The PETA people tried to sue the California Dairy Association for inacurately showing the "happy cows" lazing on acres of green grass when in real life they are cramped in fenced up dirt and urine prisons.  They didn't succeed though and the commercials still show them happy cows.  makes me want to make a grilled cheese sandwich.

lol, all this talk about food.  All i have eaten with this flu is jello and water.  Please someone send me a full blown lean double high burger with greasy french fries with gravy and a frosty on the side.  Then,  if you can send a double buster parfait from Dairy Queen. Yumm, I feel better now.  I lost 10 lbs on that darn jello flu diet. lol

You know, I forgot that Canadians put gravy on their fries. I really love "wet" fries. If you asked for gravy on your fries here, the server would think you're nuts!

HEY! That's not fair! You can't get poutine in the USA!

For the unitiated:

Poutine is a distinctly Canadian version of french fries with gravy and cheese. But, to call it that is totally inaccurate.

It takes absolutely fresh potatoes fried in LARD, something most USA restaurants refuse to do, because of stupid dietary political-correctness. They say this is a free country, yet we don't have the freedom to eat lard-fried potatoes. If not fried in lard, it loses it's very distinct taste.

The gravy can only be prepared by a VERY experienced french chef. Done properly, it is reduced enough that a spoon will stand straight up in it. The fresh lard fries are sprinkled with white cheddar cheese curds that you can only get in Canada, then smothered in this gravy (actually, it's really more of a gourmet sauce).

All this MUST be served very, very hot and should stay hot, so it's best served in a styrofoam or insulated bowl.

Not following any of the above destroys the indescribable flavor! (Which is kind of typical of fine french cooking, which is also weird, because this is actually more of a fast-food dish, believe it or not).

When I was skiing in Whistler/Blackcomb and in Vancouver, you could buy poutine from small sidewalk carts (much like hotdogs), along with escargot (snails).

I love a good red wine in the winter and whites in the summer, especially with fruit (think Sangria). Am also fond of a good Margarita, on the rocks/winter frozen&flavored/summer.  And as far as I am concerned nothing beats a great bottle of bubbly for a special occasion.  I'll admit my ancestry is French, so that may have something to do with it (it's in my DNA)!  Haha!
