Great question.

Items I look for in a company

Personal relationships do they care more about the company than the people.I never want to feel like an employee or a number.

Stability how long will the company  stay in business and what kind of practices do they employee. Rules and requirements.

Calmness,I see so many businesses where  management are screamers when probolems arise.

Longevity of co-workers. Constant change  of co-workers makes for an enviroment that is not condusive to  long term happiness.

Growth within the company .Do they promote within.

   Financial stability .Company and personal.

What will the cost to me  while  employed.Expectations of the company

My expectations of the company towards me.

The difference between coming to work and having to go to work. I want the feeling of coming to work which means I like  to go to work and not feel obligated to show up for work. Treatment.

These are items that allow me to interview a company  instead of them interviewing me.I can set the terms,I accept employment.I find out if the company is great for me and my family.

Yes!  Longevity of workers is key!  Ask the hiring manager if you could speak to someone with your job description alone to ask questions.

I would also go with the gut...ask a lot of questions and see how they respond.   The best question I think is, "what is your favorite part of the job and least favorite part of the job"?  When the question is balanced like that you can really get good info.....
