Posted about 1 year ago It is great that a woman is running for vice president, and that fact is very empowering to women. It is also great that she is able to have a family and has the drive to have a very successful career. YET, her stance on women's and reproductive rights disgusts me and I think her postitions take women steps back rather than forward. |

| Posted about 1 year ago Palin disgusts you because she does not believe in abortion as a birth control device? She believes that a child is human at conception and that the child has rights? Or is it that she believes abortion is fine when the mother is in danger of losing her life? I am not pro or con on abortion as I have never been faced with the decision of giving birth or not allowing the birth to continue.I do believe in the rights of women. I also believe in the rights of others not to be trumped by others rights. I adore strong intelligent women. I am married to a strong bright witty woman. |

Abortion, by definition is a birth control device....thats what it is for...not having babies when you aren't prepared to take care of one of are physically endangered by the pregnancy. I think we agree on the rights of women to make that choice for themselves. I also respect Palin's religious views regarding life for herself and her own family. I would agree that she does threaten choice for women. Not all 17 year olds want babies.

| Posted about 1 year ago abortion derived from abort.to end or cause to end prematurely and unsuccessfully.an immature or incomplete idea. only recently did abortion come to be defined as the expaulson of a fetus from the womb before it is able to survive. ie birth control device. |
