Posted 26 days ago How does perception play a role in sales? Today was an interesting day. I sold a filter system under the sink for drinking water last week. The clients housekeeper told the home owner that the water did not taste good and that it was cloudy and that meant dirty. I arrived and checked out the system ,the cloudy water was a mixture of water and air from the filter. I turned the water volume down. I informed the home owner to play along with me . I said the perception was cloudy made the water taste terrible. Turning the volume of the water lower did not allow for air and water to mix so rapidly. The water was no longer cloduy. The housekeeper sipped the water and said this is really good.We did nothing to the filter other than change the perception of the water that the housekeeper had in her mind. The time is now to grow and learn as much as possible. Take action and responsibility for your actions

| Posted 26 days ago I guess the next time you sell this filter you will need to clearly set expectations with the client. Point out that their water will appear cloudy after install and that cloudy water indicates the filter is working properly. Their perception will then be that cloudy water = good water. The danger in setting this type of expectation however is that it seems to indicate a flaw in product design. Wouldn't most have the prior perception that installing an expensive filter would produce crystal clear water?

| Posted 25 days ago ob when you turn water on with any faucet you mix air and water.Cloudy equals bubbles that settle and clear within seconds. That was not the point by the way. The time is now to grow and learn as much as possible. Take action and responsibility for your actions

That was not the point by the way. well, i'm not going to argue with the plumber but when I turn on the cold water, it comes out crystal clear and ice cold... it's never cloudy and it comes out of the tap smooth... theres no air bubbles... Maybe I should send you a bottle... we take it with us when we travel... back to the post.. perception plays a huge role sales. Without the right perception, theres not likely to be a sale. not just the customer/product perception but the customer/company, salesman, presentation, etc... for us... perception is critical , how is the customer envisioning a desire in their mind to a finished product... how they percieve us from the web site and decide to make the initial contact...How they percieve my replies... How well am i able to percieve their needs from a few short product inquirys in an e-mail... how do i percieve the customers ... creating a perception or helping the customer develope a product to fulfil their perception... yep, it's all about perception... Good job by the way with the customer and your demo, very professional... and a good choice to do it with the maid... now, if the wife was the one complaining, would you have used the same technique with her to make your point? you and the husband in on it?

| Posted 25 days ago I know it wasn't the point rich, I had this whole thing written out similar to goldsmith's but then i deleted it cause it seemed more fun to stop where i did. yes sales is all perceptions and expectations. like a magic show. Now, back to off the point. I never tried it, but they say if you drink different flavored kool aid in a dark room without being able to see the color, you can't tell one flavor from another. |

| Posted 25 days ago When I say cloudy it is connected to bubbly not dirty. It is clear just bubbly. Looks like it has air bubbles in it. Goldmsith do you have low fow aerators?1.0 aerators reduces the flow reduces the bubbles in the water. Let is cocnentrate opn perception that is the point.

| Posted 14 days ago You have to know how to prepare them. First take the socks and then boil them for two hours. Add cheese and desenex to taste. enjoy |

Ob they did that with coke and pepsi and people could not tell the difference.Pinch your nose and you cannot tell the difference. Taste is tied to smell. we used to have aerators but they always end up missing so i stopped replacing them... anyway, I like this natural way, pours nice and their are no air bubbles that cling to the glass... i don't know what that is all about but when i've traveled, i noticed it.
now, my perception is that it clings to the glass because either their is an impurity in the water, the air or the surface of the glass. it may taste similiar but when i add my thinking about the quality of water in the world today and what we are doing to purify it, tast or not, I'd likee mine better if it tasted like skunk piss. haha
is their a solid reason to aerate the water or could you accomplish the same thing by just nnot turning the faucet on full bore?

| Posted 14 days ago Mixing air and water with an aerator allows to have a fine stream of water. An example wouold be a garden hose with a nozzle and one without a nozzle. You could accomplish the same with restricting the flow of water as you suggest however you would then have to stand at the sink waiting for the glass to fill. We live in a I want it now society. You are correct with all the chemicals that are in the water to make it safe to drink,I wonder how much harm we are causing than eliminating. Chlorine attacks the skin and our respiratory system. But who knows maybe grizzly whizz is better for our health. The time is now to grow and learn as much as possible.
