Many members of SalesHQ are looking for work. Many have been scaled back in the work that they have been doing for years.

What are you doing to survive some of the problems that are attacking our financial security?? Have you gone back to school?? Are you looking for a new position?? Have you taken a position that you feel is below your skills just to keep up?? What is going on with everyone??

Also want to hear from those who have not been affectedby the economy.

I have approached the economy on several fronts.

1) Prepared resume, updated accomplishments, practiced interviewing etc...

2) Opened up into networking sites like Sales HQ, Linkedin, and facebooks (social). The 1st two I didnt know existed prior to 1/1/09

3) Attending several networking programs that meet weekly ( Lumen Christi & 40Plus)

4) Seek Chamber of commerce program events

5) Seek information meetings & coffee meetings

6) Apply online thru multiple job boards and work with our local workforce development program

7) Always, and I mean ALWAYS look for the way to be different and standout. I approached 1 company job fair because I knew I would talk to a person. This resulted in me reaching a 3rd level interview. Close but no cigar this time. Will try again. STAY POSITIVE W/O FAIL.

Although I found a new job last Nov 08 I still keep in touch with alot of prospect employers, just in case.  I keep up to date on what's going on in the job market and still scan the job boards on the net.  I am constantly updating myself at work to become better in the workforce, ie. new computer programs, take on new things at work out of my comfort zone.  One is better to touch on a subject than to be completely ignorant of the subject itself.

Looking for a job is a full time job.  I did all that James did and just tried to stay positive and treated each day like I was going to work so I didn't fall into the habit of getting up late in the mornings.

At least we aren't being handed out food stamps yet, hugh.  Gee the drop in jobs in Canada was/is frightening.  Everyone should be ready for a lay off of shut down.  Resumes should be ready to go and updated annually as knowone is free from the disappointment of losing their job whether they have been with a company for 1 year or 50.

Hey, we always want the loyalty of the customer so why are we as sales people losing our loyalty from the companies when we are pulling our weight. Hugh

I have been checking out our competition.  Ads, clients etc.  I have been finding out who is suffering and who isn't.  Some of us have been collaborating and passing on business to keep some of us afloat even though we are competing, it helps keep the pricing even across the board.
