How many of you revelled at old file footage of Johnny Carson shows, Charlie's Angels, Thriller videos, Oxyclean commercials and now the announcement of Kennedy's death. New footage of the first walk on the moon that has been enhanced came out this week. What are the commanding pieces of video tape that have a strong impact on your life?? Why?? | Posted 4 months ago None of those listed The video that always had a strong impact on my life is the shooting of the four students at Kent State. I was in high school and we used to travel to Kent to party in the college bars. The girl that was shot was not involved in the demonstration she was walking on a sidewalk on the campus. Due to being so close to home and it was a needless shooting. The governor had no clue what the young people wanted or what they were protesting . He just sent in the National Guard who were the same ages as the kids there and they were scared. I am nto sure what else had an impact that changed my way of thinking or the way I lived. The majority happened when i was a kid such as kennedy shooting, walking on the moon wasn't that 68? The obvious impact would be the changes in products and more discovery in science to enhance the products that are sold today. All any would have to do is take a look in the forums that concerns remember when, and other forums that talk about older life and times.
The time is now to grow and learn as much as possible. Take action and responsibility for your actions

| Posted 4 months ago What Iremember about the moon walk was that some people down the street had moon flowers that only bloomed on a warm summer night. We kept riding our bikes down there to see them and the people were watching the moonwalk on a TV on their patio.. We soaked up the moon in more ways than one Rosemary friend me on Facebook or LinkedIn and follow me on Twitter |

| Posted 4 months ago I always remember the moonwalk because it takes me back to a family vacation to northwestern WI. My dad took along a B&W TV so that he could see it. Video that impacts me are quite a few. top videos 911 and the explosion of the space shuttle discovery. The 911 was an impact because of the concerns for loss of life and that kind of attack just hasnt happen here. Space shuttle seeing it explode and the first teacher onboard was shocking. It is a risk that they take but you just dont expect it. Non-video impacts: I have an old tape that I recorded sound bites the night that John Lennon was shot and killed. His death was big impact on me. I listened to alot of his music when I was young. Some of his songs helped me survivor a parental divorce when I was 12. |

| Posted 4 months ago on that same note Jimbo I will always remember the day Stevie Ray Vaughn died as I was driving my 90 year old aunt from Mobile to Birmingham and it was this huge sentamental journey for her as she remembered a date she had in Atmore, a good friend from Greenville, a football game in Montgomery etc. All the while I was having my own sentimental journey with the strains of "she's a sweet little thing, she's my pride and joy, and I her little loverboy" in the background.
Rich- The Kent State slaying must have been especially tragic to you Rosemary friend me on Facebook or LinkedIn and follow me on Twitter |
