Posted 4 months ago James Walton recently attained the third star and he has more glitter now. Gaining stars is commendable accomplishment on SalesHQ. It is easier to have first two added to one's profile and becomes tougher to have more after addition of the third star. Stars really matter out here as they measure the contribution and participation of a member. Having them is a nice and proud feeling. Suggestion: There should be a "Today's Star Achievement" monitoring system on SalesHQ. As soon as any member attains a star, her or his name should appear on the daily list that should be added in Community section. This will help community members congratulate star achievers for motivation and celebration. What do you think? ALI We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible. | Posted 4 months ago i agree. i have worked diligently over the past few days to earn my stars, and i know it is going to take a lot longer to get to the third one. still, i realize that the encouragement to engage new members early is the key to making the site successful. otherwise, people would just join and do nothing [as many do]. once you start participating here, you realize how much there is to gain.
hopefully, my friends will congratulate me on my stars, and my somewhat rapid climb to the leader board. i have only been active for less than a week ... on monday i had ZERO points, comments or posts.
would you consider joining my new group: http://saleshq.monster.com/groups/91-marketing-geniuses ? i am hoping it takes off and gets the juices flowing ... as you can tell by the icon, it's all about thinking creatively active on SalesHQ since July, 2009

| Posted 4 months ago I am going to take a different approach; the stars matter more to those who go after them then they do to others. They do not mean one is more motivated or knows more. I like to share what I have learned to help save another steps. I have email chats with some really quiet sales professionals in sales hq that are outstanding in their process. I have had even more where I have become personal internet connections to these fantastic sales professionals. The stars stoke egos and there is nothing wrong with that, we all have egos that must be feed. The time is now to grow and learn as much as possible. Take action and responsibility for your actions

| Posted 4 months ago Ali I can appreciate the meaning however I am going to go out on a limb and this limb is not a dnagerous limb. The stars and numbers do not mean anything. It does not create motivation you already have motivation. This is a fantastic thing I am not suggesting that things are not important I am merely saying they really do not matter to others the majority of the time. This does not say it does not matter to all. There is no such thing as all or every time or always. Obviously they mean something to some however they mean something to that individual more than another. We like to compete but what do they really give to the person who reaches that star or number? Self satisfaction, realizing a goal. Do not get me wrong you Art,Jim,Jack, Larry,John,Jayne, Goldsmith,Lori, win,Brian and Alan, recent;ly The Brooks Group and others have given Sales HQ a much needed boost and your efforts must be commended and a pat on the back for the contributions.Without amazing people willing to share their methods, reasoning powers, ability none of us would be in the position we presently enjoy being affilated with at this time. Yes it is nice to be noticed and acknowledged for our efforts. This is what makes Sales HQ the premier sales site and one that really does make a difference with those who are members. It is the ONLY site that gives practical knowledge that works on a daily basis with consumers and businesses. We re-enforce each other and pick one another up by the boot straps,a never ending support system that encourage rather then discourage. It strengthens not only the professional person but the personal person.Nothing is silly ,we help one another become better prepared and improve where we could be better. The one and I believe the most important messagevery seldom will a person in this site inform anyone that they are wrong how you might try this way and see the different results. We can have debates and think oh what an asshole and the next forum thread say right on brother. I love this about Sales HQ. Other sites the gurus of those sites are quick to inform that you are wrong and out of line and how can you be that stupid or ignorant. They pick on one word and blow the importance of the idea. This is one of a kind and a very impressive avenue for sales professionals, marketers, and every day ordinary people who want to communicate with others. I love this site and I admire those in it. Let us recognize all that are in Sales HQ whewther they contribute in the forums or in emails or quiet on the sidelines soaking up the material as if there is no tomorrow .At the end of the day that is what is really important not that someone has 23,000 points and the stars. However kudos to those who aim to help others better themselves. The time is now to grow and learn as much as possible. Take action and responsibility for your actions

| Posted 4 months ago Rich, I am with you and everyone around SalesHQ. I love this site and highly value each member of its community! Preferences vary with time and values. My youngest cousin has just started to stand up on his legs and walk. After walking a few steps, he claps for himself. When he grows old, he'll clap for others. Ultimately, what counts is one's contributing to and learning from SalesHQ and improving sales practices. Let's shine!
