During the national sales meeting at the Ice breaker, the top sales man asked the average salesman, " How was your week?" The average one replied, "Great ! I had 2 demos, 25 new business calls, did 2 proposals and indentified several new prospects!"

The top salesman responded, " I did not sell anything either!"

Sounds like my day at the office today.  What is it about Friday's? They are either full throttle or dead.

lol, no full throttle here, just like the guy said "I haven't sold anything neither".

Does the Top Salesman feel that he doesn't have to brag? or is it arrogance?  Is the average salesman looking for a pat on the back? Since you asked us the question, I would like to see your comments on what you think!

Smile, they both could be at different points in there selling development, the average person needs the activity but may fool activity for results, the top salesman knows results and only feels productive when something is sold. If you consider football, you can have great stats and no TD, chances are you will lose the game, but in the long run with out stats there are few TDs. In selling with out activity, there are few sales. The top salesman looks at activity as parts of his job but a great week needs more or some sales!

Win, new job is going well. I am making the owner money, so he is happy. I love the dress code here. Causual..Floridian style. Shorts, tank tops  and flip flops. Some times I wear heels with the shorts just to dress it up.

Since it was Friday, I went casual. Denim shorts tanks top and flip flops. No heels today. Maybe that was why it was so slow.

Do top sales professionals need to rise above others by proclaiming that they have accomplished certain feats? I prefer  to let my actions speak louder than my words. The action speaks volumes than words that are spoken to gain attention.

Let your body of work do your speaking for you.
