Sales 2.0 for Dummies
by David Thompson with Elaine Marmel
As part of the first Sales 2.0 conference held in October 2007, Genius.com CEO David Thompson wrote a quick guide for integrating social media with the sales process, Sales 2.0 for Dummies. With the proliferation of online communities like Facebook, Thompson shows you what Sales 2.0 is (and can be) and offers 10 ways to boost your 2.0 abilities.
Cold calling might be going the way of the dinosaurs. Social networks can provide a warmer way to cultivate prospects and a potentially more rewarding one. Thompson shows how web conference, social networking, and prospect tracking can lead to big sales gains. But you have to know the techniques…
Excerpt: A great source of new business is your current customer base. Effectively maintaining and cultivating your existing customers is an enormous Sales 2.0 opportunity for any company. You must have an excellent Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution to manage those relationships… Just as important, you need a marketing system.

These are all great books. My only argument is that some of them aren't sales books. "Selling the Invisible" would be on my personal list of 20 top business books, or top 10 marketing books, but it isn't about selling!

Good list. Perhaps missing a few on the notivational side but if I had to choose 20 (hard choice) these would all compete.

Thank You! I was at a NYC bookstore yesterday in the business section of Sales, and there was hundreds of books on the topic. How ironic that I pulled half of the books from this list to peruse.
I am so ecstatic, today you listed the Top 20 must have for Sales. Excellent Choice!
