5 Worst Job Advice Tips

#1: Stick to a One-Page Resume
Another bit of advice after a somewhat helpful review of my resume was to shorten it to one page. This piece of input really had me flummoxed. Having had a logical and progressive 20-year work-life, suddenly squishing it all down to one page seemed to be a disservice to any firm considering employing me for my seasoned expertise.
I promptly went out to 5 more (actively employed) friends and double-checked my resume style and approach by using two pages. I was reassured over and over that my experiences deserved two pages, and I had creatively already shortened it with special mentions. Additionally, I had received great guidance with rationale explained in writing up my resume by using Monster’s Resume Writing Service.

The worst bit of advice I received was "Just start drinking heavily. Start in the morning and just keep going all day and all night."

Hi, I've had many of the same reactions to "advice" given and it has given me an opportunity to work on my tact. I would suggest never being a professional mom to your children, although a "professional" position here could be one of day-care business owner. Roll that into a small education center and the possibilities are bigger than many imagine. ($15k per student year x 10 students.... )

Modestly interesting... Author really has not had much bad advice if the ones listed are her "worst". Having just completed a 8 month stint unemployed; oh the stories I could tell: "... What did you do wrong" & "God is punishing you" come to mind!
Here is one piece of advice I would give regarding resumes: ask 10 PROFESSIONAL resume writers or wordsmiths and $20 bucks says you will get at LEAST 6-7 different "best" ways to do a resume. My advice: who knows! Follow you own heart! Alan
